Code of Conduct/Anti-Harassment Policy
For all attendees of Worlds Elsewhere Theatre Company Events
In attending any Worlds Elsewhere performance, donor gathering, talkback, or similar event, we assume your agreement to this code of conduct. If you are removed from the event due to noncompliance, any payment you offered in exchange for the access to said event will be considered forfeit.
1. Be Excellent to each other.
Harassment of any kind is not welcome in our events.
We are LGBTQ+ positive, believe that Black Lives Matter, and find it abhorrent that these stances are considered controversial in any context. We do not condone comments that are offensive or discriminatory regarding someone’s national origin, race, religion, age, sex, sexual orientation, pregnancy, appearance, disability, gender identity or expression, or marital status. including epithets, slurs and negative stereotyping.
Other types of harassment include
- Unwanted physical or sexual attention
- Continuing to follow or interact with someone after they have asked you to stop
- Threatening language or behavior
- Distributing explicit images or exposing oneself (note: breastfeeding a child is an explicit exception)
Any behavior (including virtual equivalents of the above) that is sufficiently severe, persistent, and offensive that it results in a hostile environment can be considered harassment.
Also, deliberately making a false report of harassment is in itself a violation of this policy, and will garner an appropriate response.
2. Don’t spam.
This includes posting the same message multiple times, or multiple messages with no meaningful content. (Non-excessive emote spam, such as expressing applause or engagement with a request for “x in the chat,” will not be understood as a violation of this rule.)
If someone says or does something that is a violation of these rules, or otherwise does something that makes you uncomfortable or upset, please notify an event staff member, chat moderator or similarly identified figure.
